Essential Items Checklist for Your Yoga Practice

What to Bring to Yoga Class

Complete guide on what to bring to your yoga class in Pokhara. We provide most equipment - here's what you need to bring for a comfortable practice.

Everything You Need for Yoga Class

Coming to your first yoga class (or your hundredth) doesn't require much preparation. We provide most equipment at our Ghachowk center. Here's a simple checklist of what to bring and what to expect.

The good news: yoga doesn't require expensive gear or equipment. A few basics are all you need to have a comfortable, enjoyable practice.

What We Provide

Yoga Mats

High-quality, non-slip yoga mats for all students. Cleaned and maintained regularly.

Props & Equipment

Blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, and meditation cushions available as needed.

Filtered Water

Clean, filtered drinking water available at no charge throughout your practice.

Storage Space

Safe place to store your belongings during class. Shoes left at entrance.

What You Should Bring

Comfortable Clothing

Wear stretchy, breathable clothing that allows free movement:

  • • Leggings or yoga pants
  • • T-shirt or tank top (fitted is better than loose)
  • • Light jacket for morning/evening classes
  • • Avoid jeans, belts, or restrictive clothing

Personal Items (Optional)

  • • Your own water bottle (we have filtered water too)
  • • Small towel (especially if you sweat a lot)
  • • Hair tie if you have long hair
  • • Minimal jewelry (remove for practice)

What NOT to Bring

  • • Shoes are removed at the entrance (practice barefoot)
  • • Heavy meals right before class
  • • Strong perfumes (some people are sensitive)
  • • Valuables (bring only essentials)

Clothing Tips by Season

🌸 Spring (March-May)

Light layers work well. Mornings can be cool, afternoons warm. T-shirt + light jacket.

☀️ Summer (June-August)

Lightweight, breathable clothing. Shorts and t-shirt. Airy fabrics for humidity.

🍂 Autumn (September-November)

Similar to spring. Layers are useful as temperatures vary. Generally comfortable.

❄️ Winter (December-February)

Mornings are chilly! Warm layers you can remove as you warm up. Hoodie or sweater.

What to Bring FAQs

No! We provide high-quality yoga mats, blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters. Just bring yourself and comfortable clothing. If you prefer your own mat, you're welcome to bring it.
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows movement. Leggings or shorts with a t-shirt work well. Avoid overly baggy clothes that make it hard to see alignment. For morning classes, bring a light layer.
Ideally, eat a light meal 2-3 hours before class. A heavy meal right before practice can be uncomfortable. If you need something closer to class time, have a piece of fruit or small snack.
We provide filtered water at our center. You're welcome to bring your own water bottle if you prefer. Staying hydrated is important, especially during longer classes or in warmer weather.
A small towel can be nice, especially for vigorous classes or if you tend to sweat. We have blankets for relaxation but not specifically for sweat.
