What Are Advanced Yoga Classes?
Advanced yoga classes are designed for experienced practitioners who have moved beyond the fundamentals and are ready to explore more challenging postures, deeper pranayama techniques, and sustained meditation practice. These classes assume familiarity with basic alignment, breath awareness, and the ability to self-modify when needed.
In our Ghachowk center, advanced classes maintain the authentic Indian tradition - this isn't fitness yoga or Instagram-style challenge classes. This is serious, traditional practice for those seeking depth, discipline, and transformation.
Advanced Class Structure
Typical 90-Minute Session
Opening (15 min)
Centering and intention setting (sankalpa), joint mobility and warm-up, basic pranayama to establish breath awareness.
Asana Practice (60 min)
Sun salutations (Surya Namaskar A, B, C), standing poses with advanced variations, arm balances and inversions, backbends and forward folds, seated poses and twists.
Closing (15 min)
Advanced pranayama (kapalabhati, bhastrika, nadi shodhana), guided meditation or yoga nidra, final relaxation in shavasana.
