The Foundation of Your Teaching Journey

The 200-hour certification is the internationally recognized foundation for yoga teaching. This isn't just about learning to lead a class - it's a deep dive into traditional yoga practice that transforms your understanding of yourself and the practice.

Our program in peaceful Ghachowk combines rigorous curriculum with the transformative setting of the Himalayas. You'll emerge certified to teach worldwide, with the depth of understanding that comes from training with instructors who trained extensively in Indian Himalayas Ashrams.

What makes our training different? Our lead instructors spent years living in ashrams in Rishikesh, Mysore, and other Himalayan centers, learning directly from masters. Swami Ananda founded our school after decades of Himalayan practice and teaching. Deepika Bhairavi combines championship-level yoga training with Himalayan wisdom. Ratheesh (Shiva) teaches traditional philosophy from his years of monastic life. This isn't book knowledge - it's lived experience.

The Ghachowk location provides ideal conditions for focused study. You'll live steps from the yoga shala, practicing with direct Annapurna views. Three daily meals, comfortable accommodation, and the natural quiet of village life create an environment where transformation happens naturally.

Preparing for your 200-hour YTT? Join our beginner classes to build foundation. For complete immersion, combine with our week-long yoga retreat.

200-Hour YTT FAQs

Upon successful completion, you receive a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate from our Yoga Alliance registered school (RYS 200). This allows you to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and teach yoga internationally. The certificate is recognized globally.
We evaluate based on: attendance (minimum 95%), practical teaching assessments, written examination on anatomy and philosophy, and demonstrated understanding of yoga principles. Most committed students pass. Those needing additional support receive it. This is about competence, not competition.
Yes. The 200-hour certification is the internationally recognized standard for teaching yoga. You'll be qualified to teach group classes at studios, gyms, and independently. Many graduates go on to 300-hour advanced training later to expand their skills.
Swami Ananda, our founder, brings decades of Himalayan practice and ashram training. He teaches philosophy and the spiritual dimensions of yoga. Deepika Bhairavi teaches anatomy and asana with precision from championship-level training. Ratheesh (Shiva) brings traditional philosophy and Ashtanga expertise from years of Himalayan training.
Our Ghachowk center offers comfortable rooms with mountain views. Private or twin-sharing options with attached bathrooms and 24/7 hot water. Three daily organic vegetarian meals included - local, fresh, sattvic food prepared with care. You're steps from the yoga shala, meditation spaces, and outdoor areas for practice. Simple but comfortable - this is training, not a luxury holiday.
Three key differences: 1) Our instructors trained extensively in Indian Himalayas Ashrams - not quick certifications. 2) Our Ghachowk location provides the peace and mountain views that enhance training. 3) We emphasize authentic yoga tradition, not watered-down tourist versions. Small groups (12 max) ensure personal attention.
Bring comfortable yoga clothes, personal toiletries, any medications, notebook and pen. We provide mats and all props. Start establishing a daily practice 20-30 minutes before arriving - this helps with the intensive schedule. Read the pre-course materials we send. Come with an open mind and willingness to work hard.
Days begin at 6:00 AM with pranayama and meditation. Asana 7:00-8:30 AM, breakfast, then techniques 10:00-12:30. Lunch and rest, then philosophy or anatomy 3:00-5:00 PM. Evening meditation and dinner by 7:30 PM. One rest day per week for integration and optional excursions.
We provide a pre-course reading list including selected Yoga Sutras and anatomy basics. Establishing a regular practice before arrival helps - even 20-30 minutes daily. Don't worry about memorizing everything; we cover it all during training. Come well-rested and ready to learn.
We provide ongoing support to all graduates. This includes recommendation letters, advice on finding teaching positions, connections with our yoga network, and resources for continuing education. Many graduates stay in touch for years, returning for advanced training or retreats. You're part of our yoga family.
Yes! Our graduates teach at studios worldwide, lead their own classes, work in gyms and wellness centers, some open their own schools. The 200-hour certificate opens doors globally. Yoga Alliance registration provides additional credibility and networking opportunities.
Yes. One full rest day per week allows for exploration. Evenings after 7:30 PM are free. Some students take time off after graduation to trek or travel Nepal. The training is intensive but includes space for experiencing Nepal if you plan well.
