Yoga Classes in Pokhara

Join our daily yoga classes in peaceful Ghachowk. From sunrise Hatha to evening meditation, experience authentic practice with traditional instruction and stunning Annapurna views.

Daily Yoga Classes in the Mountains

Our Ghachowk yoga center offers daily classes for all levels - from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Unlike crowded studios in tourist-heavy Lakeside, our classes happen in peaceful village surroundings with direct views of the Annapurna range.

Each class is led by instructors trained in Indian Himalayas Ashrams. This isn't fitness yoga - it's authentic practice including proper alignment, pranayama (breath work), and meditation. The traditional methods we teach have been refined over centuries.

2

Equipment Setup

We provide mats, blocks, straps, and blankets. Just bring yourself and comfortable clothing. We'll help you set up your space.

Classes start with centering and sometimes chanting. Then warm-up, main practice, and relaxation. Your teacher will guide you throughout - just listen and do your best.

Preparing for Your First Class

Food & Drink

Avoid heavy meals 2-3 hours before class. Light snacks are fine. Come hydrated, but don't drink too much water right before practice.

Clothing

Comfortable, modest clothing that allows movement. Yoga pants or shorts, t-shirt or tank top. Layers are good as you may warm up. We practice barefoot.

Timing

Arrive 10 minutes early for your first class. Rushing in creates stress that defeats the purpose. Give yourself time to settle in and ask questions.

Leave competitiveness at the door. Yoga is personal, not comparative. Listen to your body and honor your limits. It's your practice.

Class FAQs

Drop-in classes are welcome, but we recommend booking at least a day ahead to guarantee your spot, especially for popular sunrise sessions with our 8-student maximum. Contact us via WhatsApp or email to reserve your space. Last-minute drop-ins are welcome space permitting.
We provide mats, blocks, straps, and blankets. Just bring comfortable clothing that allows movement, water, and an open mind. For morning classes, bring a light layer as it can be cool before sunrise. Most importantly, bring yourself as you are.
Contact us for current class pricing and package options. We offer drop-in classes, multi-class passes, and monthly options. Retreats and teacher training have separate pricing. No hidden fees.
Absolutely! Our Gentle Flow class (10 AM) is designed specifically for beginners, and our All Levels classes provide modifications. We recommend starting with morning Hatha (6 AM) or the 10 AM Gentle Flow if you're new to yoga. No experience necessary - just willingness to learn.
We specialize in traditional Indian yoga: Hatha (classical postures with alignment focus, breath work, meditation), Ashtanga (traditional primary series - dynamic, athletic, disciplined), and Vinyasa (creative breath-linked movement, flowing and meditative). All taught by instructors trained in Indian Himalayas Ashrams.
Ghachowk is approximately 30 minutes from Lakeside by taxi (NPR 500-800) or motorbike. We can arrange pickup for retreat/YTT participants. Many students rent scooters for the pleasant ride through countryside. See our Getting to Ghachowk guide for detailed directions.
Many injuries and conditions can be accommodated with modified poses. Inform your teacher before class of any injuries or health concerns. For acute injuries or serious conditions, please consult your doctor first. Yoga can support healing when practiced mindfully.
You've come to the right place! Yoga builds flexibility - you don't need it to start. Our classes meet you where you are. Every pose has modifications for different bodies. Flexibility develops gradually with consistent practice.
For benefits, 2-3 times per week is excellent. Daily practice is ideal and the traditional recommendation. Even 20-30 minutes of home practice between classes makes a huge difference. Consistency matters more than intensity.
Yes! Private sessions are available. Privates are ideal for personalized attention, working with specific injuries, or learning foundations before joining group classes. Contact us for pricing and availability.
Classes are taught in English. Our instructors are fluent and comfortable teaching international students. Sanskrit terms are explained in context - no prior knowledge needed. All instruction is clear and accessible.
